R AMES FORESTRY CONTRACTING LTD was founded in 1985 and has since had massive experience in forestry contracting, mainly buying standing timber it has grown over the years. We also have good links with a wide circle of estates, woodland owners, long term contracts and good connections with united utilities, which all provide high quantities of mixed broadleaf and conifer standing timber which is managed and has a sustainable rotation each year.
Using the latest John Deere harvesting equipment it produces over 20,000 tons a year of various grades of timber, from 1st quality planking oak to low grade bio mass created from brash recovered from sites worked by the company. Its self sufficiency includes a timber lorry and low loader, giving it independence and a competitive foot hold on delivered timber prices. Covering all bases means reliability and efficiency allowing difficult operations to become simpler and safer.
By having a group FSC registered company it also allows a broader customer base providing certified timber which can command a better price and return, and again an attraction to other perspective clients and customers.
